Attendance at the Argentina Carbon Forum

This week, we attended the Argentina Carbon Forum, an event that gathered individuals from across the country and the region to strengthen working networks and share experiences.

The forum provided an excellent opportunity to connect with numerous professionals dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet. Throughout the event, innovative strategies for climate change mitigation and transitioning toward a low-carbon economy were shared.

We are proud to be part of this conversation alongside other industry leaders. Active participation in these forums is essential for understanding environmental policies and the business opportunities emerging around decarbonization.

Although Argentina currently has a low share in the production of credits in Latin America, it is a privileged position that will allow it to become one of the most sought-after countries for developing NbS and TbS projects.

Insights from our Executive Director – Juan Emilio Bragado

The carbon market and its potential are evident in the growing demand for decarbonized products, positioning it as a key driver of this sector.

While Argentina has a limited share in Latin America’s credit production, it is well-positioned to become one of the most sought-after countries for developing Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and Technology-based Solutions (TbS) projects.

Event Summary and Key Takeaways

The second edition of the Argentina Carbon Forum, held last week in Buenos Aires, reinforced the interest of private stakeholders, as well as national and subnational governments, in carbon markets. According to our director, Juan Emilio Bragado, this event has mapped a promising future for a critical sector in the fight against climate change.

He also emphasized the importance of exploring the opportunities and scenarios for developing projects that meet the growing demand for carbon credits—a mission that requires the collaboration and commitment of all involved. During the forum, he had the opportunity to discuss this topic with Juan David Duran Hernandez, CEO of EcoRegistry, further enriching our perspective.

One of the forum’s highlights was the presentation of the ECO2 jurisdictional program by the province of Misiones. This innovative program, set to certify the world’s first jurisdictional credit, exemplifies the collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors.

We are highly enthusiastic about next year’s event, where we look forward to continuing these important conversations and promoting a sustainable future.
