ACUDE Foundation is proud to announce its collaboration with the Central West Integration Zone of South America (ZICOSUR), a regional integration organization that brings together 70 subnational states from seven South American countries to strengthen the capacity of its members to address climate change and leverage environmental markets in the region.
At this critical point in history, as the climate crisis and biodiversity loss have devastating effects on our planet, intensifying efforts to seek transformative solutions is imperative. These solutions are essential not only to address the climate crisis but also to safeguard the development of communities in the Global South, home to some of the world’s largest tracts of native forests and biological diversity.
In a joint effort to foster greater understanding of environmental challenges, Patricio Lombardi, Founder of ACUDE, and Mariano Fernández, Pro Tempore Secretary of ZICOSUR, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations. The agreement aims to promote knowledge and awareness of environmental markets, environmental protection, and climate change, with a strong focus on protecting natural capital in Latin America.
This agreement represents a significant commitment to foster an inclusive dialogue space among government agendas, the private sector, academia, and civil society from ZICOSUR’s 70 subnational states. Together, we will explore the Southern Cone’s capabilities to implement mechanisms and tools that drive financial sustainability, promote equitable benefit-sharing systems, and ensure environmental integrity, in alignment with the climate agenda.
